Q: How much does a website cost?
A: There are three fees involved with setting up a website.
- The first fee is for your domain name (www.yourname.com)
To simplify the process for you, we can register your domain name(s). Rates are always changing. However, a good benchmark is $75 for 2 years or more for a longer time frame and reserves your url (www.yourname.???).
- The second fee is for web server space.
This is an account set up by us for you. Website hosting is an ever changing and competitive market. We can help you find the best hosting plan based on your needs. Generally hosting ranges from $8 - $20 per month depending upon the demands of your website's needs.
If you have any of the above already, we have only to design a site for you.
- The third fee is the website design fee.
This is the fee you would pay DroneWorks directly. It covers the cost of designing the site, purchasing any software programs that will run on the site (news, calendars or similar programs you or your staff can update). We prefer to give each customer a flat design fee for their site. This allows us to try different design ideas without charging you an hourly rate. We take many different factors into account when coming up with an estimate including project size, deadlines, scope and non-profit status.
Q: How long does it take to get my site created?
A: Generally it takes one day to get your domain name and server space set up. The design and creation of your site can take anywhere from two to five weeks. This timeline will vary depending upon the number of pages, images, graphics and other factors. Site development can begin while the server/domain is being set up. Additionally, the amount and speed at which materials and information are supplied to the designer will accelerate the process.
Q: I don't have a lot of money to spend on a site, what can I do?
A: We can work with most any budget size. The most important goal is to get you on the web in a professional looking manner. No one stays at a poorly built site for very long. Even a single, well designed, page can get you noticed and project a professional, established image. Once you start increasing your business we are sure you'll be so satisfied with our work you will come back to expand your website as you grow.
